DENVER — Chris Bianchi is an Anchor and Meteorologist at 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado.
Chris is the anchor of 9NEWS’ WATCH service.
Chris also regularly contributes weather reports on 9NEWS, and you’ll also see him do weather broadcasts in Spanish for 9NEWS’ digital side.
Before joining 9NEWS in May 2021, Chris worked for Spectrum Networks as a meteorologist for their app from 2020 through May 2021.
Before that, Chris worked as a meteorologist for WeatherNation for six years, and he also wrote weather articles for The Denver Post, The Washington Post, the Boston Herald and the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
In addition to his meteorological duties, Chris served as the voice of the University of Denver’s men’s and women’s soccer teams for several years. He also wrote about Colorado politics for Westword.
Chris holds a Broadcasters’ Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association, and he’s also a broadcast ambassador for the American Meteorological Society’s Committee for Hispanic and Latinx Advancement.
Originally from Connecticut, Chris graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University in 2009 and received his certification in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University in 2012.
Chris enjoys running, soccer, skiing, candy and his 2-year-old corgi, Penny, whom you’ll see frequently on his social media. Chris and his girlfriend also enjoy traveling, and they’ve been to 30 countries — and counting!
