BERTHOUD, Colo. — The undefeated roll continues for the Berthoud football team.
The Spartans kept their perfect season intact on the big stage Friday night, defeating Wellington 38-6 in the 9Preps Game of the Week in the opening round of the Class 2A playoffs.
Both teams entered the postseason matchup with undefeated records (9-0). It was the first playoff win for Berthoud since 2007, when the Spartans went on to win the 3A state title.
Berthoud, a 4-seed, advances to play the winner of (5) Elizabeth and (12) Moffat County in the quarterfinals next weekend. Wellington's season ends at 9-1 overall.
